Global challenge created by Tim Valberg Monday, January 09, 2017

We believe that Trump's personality is deeply worrisome and detrimental to the US and the world as a whole.

7 disturbing traits of Donald Trump's:

  1. Incompetent.
  2. Narcissist.
  3. Short temperement and anger.
  4. Serial liar.
  5. off-the-chart low agreeableness.
  6. Having a zero-sum game, "killer" attitude.
  7. Using inflammatory language and inciting violence.
  8. Risk taker.

The scope of this analysis is Trump's character, leader style and personality, and what that does to the US and the rest of the world, him being the president of the most powerful country in the world. This challenge space is not about the policies he stands for but rather how his conduct and retoric negatively impacts society.

  • Number of lies
  • Number of times bullying
  • Trump has publicly encouraged violence at least 11 times on different occasions [195].
  • Trump attacked the media at least 43 times while being a presidential candidate [196].
  • Trump has been accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment by at least fifteen different women since the 1980s. [200]

The problem

Donald Trump, a serial liar, short termpered narcissist, a bullying con artist, adulterer, professed grabber of women’s genitals without their permission, an ignorant who does not read, an admirer of dictators, encourager of vigilante violence against innocent people, a person known to rip of his employees and break business contracts, a racist landlord, the preferred candidate of neo-Nazis, and a person who incites violence against his political opponents, is now the 45th president of the United States of America.

Focusing question

What should be done to avoid candidates with similarly poor character getting elected in the future?
